10 JUL 2026 - Back up to full speed! Let's be honest: for the last few months, TorrentFunk was painfully slow. Pages crawled, searches dragged, and just loading the site tested everyone's patience. We hunted the problem down to our network and rebuilt it from the ground up — smarter caching, a much bigger and faster connection, and a lot of fine-tuning under the hood. The difference is night and day: the site now loads in a fraction of a second. No more waiting around. Thanks for sticking with us through the slow spell. Now go discover your funk!
### _*** v2 changelog: 1) Dragon-Box Audio of the original Dragon Ball has been replaced with Jpn Broadcast Audio. So now, DB-Z-GT all 3 series have Broadcast Audio. 2) All English audio tracks have been removed. This is now a Jpn only release._

#### __This is a compilation of all the R2J Dragon Box DVD releases (1.5GB/episode) on Nyaa re-encoded to a 300~400MB/episode package using x264. Muxed with Japanese Broadcast Audio.__

* Episode 24 had interlacing issue. So it's encoded from fixed version [Here](https://nyaa.si/view/1156675)
* While I appreciate Team Mirolo's 'video sync', in some episodes it somewhat desyncs lip dialogue in an attempt to perfectly sync sound effects. So i went with 'audio sync', which is how it was originally broadcasted.

`Subtitle` | ASS (slightly edited) | [Marin888's Dragon Box Subs](https://nyaa.si/view/1202320)
* Initially I wanted to do the Toei HD Remasters (which a lot of us prefer). But imo, the colors look really inaccurate in them. The hand drawn black borders are also smudged off. So I instead decided on the R2J releases, which has much more accurate colors. Besides, this is a R2J collection anyway. But hey, if you want the Toei remasters you can always find them [Here](https://nyaa.si/view/1145208).

`Video` | x264 640x480 4:3 (R2J) | x264 1280x720 16:9
`Audio` | Jpn AAC 128kbps | Jpn AAC 128kbps
`Subtitle` | ASS | ASS
`Source` | [Volitank's DB](https://nyaa.si/view/1133179) & [Romao's DBZ](https://nyaa.si/view/1114198) | DBNL & GTeam
* DBZ TV special 1 & 2 have higher quality remastered release by iKaos [Here](https://nyaa.si/view/1185803), which also has dual audio. But I prefer the R2J release for its color accuracy.

##### __Grain Preservation:__
* This was the most important & hardest. To preserve as much grain as possible, I did extensive tests with x264 using a bunch of different values of aq-strength,qcomp,psy-rd & finally settled on the following settings. These settings were the sweet spot between file size & grain preservation:
* aq-mode=3/aq-strength=0.65/qcomp=0.75/psy-rd=1.1,0.3/crf=22
* I'm happy with how it turned out. Ofc, 100% grain preservation is not possible. Especially not in a 300~400MB package. But I wanted to have the R2J experience in a small package. I'd rather have a 300MB episode with 90% grain than a 1.5GB episode with 100% grain. Hence, this project.
##### __Openings & Endings & NEPs:__
* All OPs, EDs, NEPs are removed and OP-EDs are kept in seperate files. This might be a deal breaker for some, but it didn't make sense for this project to have them intact. The main episode file sizes are big as is (cuz of grains), on top of that if I kept the OP-EDs (which i skip most of the time anyway), the overall size would be 50GB higher.
##### __Folder Structure:__
* I arranged and numbered the folders according to Story Arcs. So if anyone wants to download/binge a particular story arc, they can do so.
* The movies take place in an alternate timeline, so they can be watched any time. But if I "HAD" to put them in the original timeline, in what order would I watch them? I numbered the movie folders as such. For example, "10.0" means the movie takes place 'during' the 10th story arc & "10.1" means it takes place 'after' the 10th story arc.
