Summary
The Tudor Court is locked in a power struggle between its nobles and the Machiavellian Cardinal Wolsey, the King's first minister and the country's most conspicuous symbol of Catholic power. Wolsey's ambition knows no bounds and when his chief ally, Queen Katherine, interferes in the King's romance with Ann Boleyn, he brings ruin upon himself, the Queen and centuries of English obedience to Rome.

My notes:
Henry VIII is one of the historical plays written by Shakespeare from histories of the period by other writers.
In going back to do a smaller recode from my original DVD rip and it being nine years since of Globe shows, I was especially treated to seeing the ending jig that is performed by the whole company; a traditional element from Shakespeare's theatre. Many
of these closing group dances have been done over the years. This traditional approach was a good reminder of the beginning of the filmed live Globe shows.
These uploads are presented in the hope that the Shakespeare Globe On Screen series becomes a part of libraries everywhere for the enjoyment of everyone. Encourage your schools and public libraries to acquire them from the source. Support the Globe any way you can and enjoy the performances.
