Verpleegster in opleiding Sam loopt alleen door de duistere straten van Zuid-Londen wanneer ze wordt overvallen door een jeugdbende. Ze wordt echter gered wanneer er iets uit de hemel valt. Een meteoor slaat in nabij een geparkeerde wagen en Sam weet te vluchten, net vooraleer de bende wordt aangevallen door een klein buitenaards wezen dat uit het wrak komt. De bende achtervolgt het wezen en doodt het, en sleept het karkas naar het hoogste punt van de wijk, die ze als hun territorium beschouwen. Maar het avontuur is nog niet voorbij. De buitenaardse aanvallen zijn nog maar een begin…
