Aptana Studio is a cross-platform integrated application development environment (IDE) for creating dynamic web applications. Includes features such as autocompletion of typed designs on the fly for JavaScript, HTML, and CSS code, color-coded JavaScript, HTML, and CSS code, error warnings, and the ability to customize and extend the user interface.
With additional plugins, Aptana Studio also supports development for the following languages and platforms: Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python, Adobe Air, and Apple iPhone.
In addition to standalone versions for Windows NT, Mac OS and GNU/Linux, Aptana is available as an Eclipse platform plugin.
The latest version of Aptana Studio includes a Jaxer server that allows you to run JavaScript on the server side. It is also integrated with the Aptana Cloud service, which offers easy deployment and hosting of web applications on Aptana cloud computing servers with instant scalability of resources on demand. This hosting supports the following PHP 5, Jaxer, Ruby on Rails, and Java platforms and is expected to support Python web applications in the near future.
