Sinopse Pt Br:
O pistoleiro aposentado e ex-soldado confederado Steve Sinclair (Robert Taylor) está vivendo como um fazendeiro em uma pequena comunidade. Ele colabora com o proprietário principal Dennis Deneen (Donald Crisp), de quem aluga o rancho, para preservar a estabilidade comunal. Sua vida tranquila é interrompida pela aparição de seu irmão mais novo, o emocionalmente instável Tony (John Cassavetes ) e a bela namorada de Tony Joan (Julie London ). Um antigo rival de Steve, atirador Larry Venables (Charles McGraw), também entra em cena procurando Steve. Tony confronta Larry e mata-o em um tiroteio.
