Quando a Guerra Civil estava prestes a terminar, sabotadores do exército sulista atacam a construção de uma ferrovia que vai cruzar o Kansas indo até a fronteira. O cap. John Nelson (Hayden) do exército americano é enviado para o local com a missão de enfrentar os rebeldes.
