Dopo il successo ottenuto con le tre serie della sketch comedy televisiva e il tour teatrale da subito sold out, l'irresistibile duo Fabrizio Biggio/Francesco Mandelli raggiunge il Grande Schermo, firmando anche la sceneggiatura e le canzoni originali del film.
Anche il pubblico Cinematografico conoscerà la comicità cinica e "politically scorrect" de 'I soliti Idioti', seguendo le vicende di Ruggero De Ceglie e suo figlio Gianluca, in un viaggio attraverso l'Italia.
Ruggero, padre autoritario, volgare e disonesto, trascinerà Gianluca, ragazzo dall'animo sensibile, amante dell'arte e della tecnologia, in situazioni rocambolesche per far assaporare al figlio la "vita vera" e farlo crescere … a modo suo. Il viaggio sarà accompagnato da alcune tra le coppie di personaggi più amate della serie, che intrecceranno il loro percorso con quello dei due protagonisti.
