DESCRIPTION
Welcome to a world where time has become the ultimate currency. You stop aging at 25, but there's a catch: you're genetically-engineered to live only one more year, unless you can buy your way out of it. The rich "earn" decades at a time (remaining at age 25), becoming essentially immortal, while the rest beg, borrow or steal enough hours to make it through the day. When a man from the wrong side of the tracks is falsely accused of murder, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful hostage. Living minute to minute, the duo's love becomes a powerful tool in their war against the system.

Welkom in een wereld waar tijd het ultieme betaalmiddel is geworden. Het verouderingsproces stopt op de leeftijd van 25 jaar, maar er zit een addertje onder het gras: je bent genetisch gemanipuleerd om nog één jaar te leven, tenzij je je nakende dood kan afkopen. De rijken "verdienen" tientallen jaren per keer (en blijven 25 jaar), waardoor ze nagenoeg onsterfelijk worden, terwijl de rest genoeg uren bij elkaar smeekt, leent of steelt om de dag door te komen. Wanneer een jonge man (Timberlake) in het bezit komt van een fortuin aan tijd, wordt hij valselijk beschuldigd van moord. Hij wordt gedwongen op de vlucht te slaan met een mooie gijzelaar (Seyfried). De liefdevan het duo, dat van minuut tot minuut leeft, wordt een sterk wapen in hun oorlog tegen het systeem.
Storyline
In the not-too-distant future the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality. A poor young man who comes into a fortune of time, though too late to help his mother from dying. He ends up on the run from a police force known as 'time keepers'
