Darios está muito interessado na belíssima Diala, filha do mestre que idealizou a construção do colosso e acaba envolvido com um grupo de rebeldes liderados pelo imponente Peliocles. Os rebeldes estão planejando um golpe de Estado para retirar o tirano Rei Serse do poder, assim como o seu também tirano amigo e comandante Thar. A revolta dos rebeldes se mostra falha e Peliocles e seus homens são capturados e forçados a entreter o povo na arena local, mas um terrível terremoto acaba não só abalando a estrutura do grande Colosso de Rodes, mas também o poder de toda a cidade.
