This has been available on a private tracker for quite some time. Because of nighthwk's superior release I assume no one felt compelled or interested in mirroring this here. On said private tracker this old digitized VHS transfer of this rare VHS fansub was about to die, even though it's inferior to nighthwk's softsub for the benefit of everyone interested in seeing what an old Kodocha VHS fansub looks like I decided I'd take measures to hopefully prevent this from being lost to time.
I ask that everyone please do their best in seeding this for as long as possible, mirror this to usenet and upload it elsewhere (it would be really appreciated!).
For those who don't know, a quick history lesson:
Before digital fansubbing and before licensing anime to the west in subtitled form was efficient, tapes were traded and made by VHS fansub groups who worked tirelessly to sub anime - a lot more tedious than just opening aegisub and getting started today. However, over time those tapes degraded, failed, were thrown out, or were sold. Now, you can't go online or to a bootleg store and pick up some VHS fansubs like you used to be able to.
I do have some fansub tapes of the main Kodocha anime and Marmalade Boy that I plan to digitize someday. |
