David Pelama is bijna veertig. Hij is al zolang getrouwd met Christine dat hun amoureuze relatie tot een ver verleden behoort. Hij heeft twee kinderen waar hij steeds moeilijker mee kan communiceren. Ook professioneel gezien is het David niet echt voor de wind gegaan. Hij is nooit de grote advocaat geworden waarvan hij droomde en blinkt eerder uit in nutteloos papierwerk. Het leven ziet er voor David niet al te rooskleurig uit. Mocht hij de kans krijgen, zou hij het allemaal opnieuw proberen. Op kerstavond ontdekt hij toevallig een aktetas vol cocaiene en een gsm die niet stopt met afgaan. David denkt dat hij een manier heeft gevonden om zijn leven in een totaal nieuwe richting te sturen.
