Een groep verslaggevers maakt een verhaal over robots op een afgelegen eiland genaamd New Town. Alles op het eiland wordt onderhouden door robots. Ze werken samen met de mensen, spelen met hen en brengen zelfs de kinderen naar school. Het lijkt een perfecte plek voor iedereen. Totdat een van de robots doordraait en een man vermoordt tijdens een voetbalwedstrijd. De verslaggevers moeten nu niet alleen een verhaal maken maar ook proberen in leven te blijven. Ondertussen komen de andere robots ook in opstand en starten ze een jacht op mensen.
