Studio One Extended Mapping for the NI Maschine Controller
Implemented Functionality:
• there are 4 “knob-banks” that offer
• an 8 channel mixer mapping with volume/pan, mute/solo
• an 8 high resolution knob + toggle control link mapping
• a separate 16 knob + toggle control link mapping that is spread over 2 banks
• there is basic follow-channel functionality consisting of direct hires controls for volume and pan as well as mute/solo/select/rec-arm, open/close of the channel editor and stepping through the insert plugins.
• There are mute/solo and select pad groups allowing for quick muting and selection of 16
channels.
• There are direct controls for the most important automation, quantization, transport and record mode functionalities, and there is a central undo/redo button as well as a main volume control.
• There is a pad group that allows for direct control of quantize presets and markers and One group for your basic navigation, selection and editing needs.
• Missing are functionalities that just work better with a mouse.
• All this fits onto the controller only by using groups and banks as well as defining a dedicated shift button.
