for those who might be curious about where all those references to the ancient Gods, yokai (and folklore), ancient Emperors (and the history of the Japanese Imperial Family), the beliefs and teachings of the samurai, and other usually puzzling facets of Japanese culture (both ancient and modern) that frequently show up in manga, anime, and LN's, come from ...
