My notes
This is a rare BBC Proshot video at Shakespeare's Globe captured from BBC broadcast. I got this from an anonymous source. This predates what we've come to see as standard quality video via capture means. But the fact that it was captured from broadcast tv and not to disk makes it a rare and valuable addition to the a complete Shakespeare's Globe collection which you will find in my file list. I made clips for this but decided to have the complete BBC experience for the viewer to see as it was seen from the BBC. A larger file size was recoded but that larger file size is the same content. There is no loss of what was originally recorded and that could be improved.
Like The Globe production of Twelfth Night a few years later this production uses traditional Shakespearean elements with an all-male cast. That Twelfth Night is also on my file list and also stars Mark Rylance.
The Globe would perform Richard II available on DVD years later with Charles Edwards
as the king. That is included in my file list.
