Victor Pivert, ein rassistischer Fabrikant, ist auf dem Weg zur Hochzeit seiner Tochter. Unterwegs trifft er auf den arabischen Oppositionspolitiker Slimane, den ein Killerkommando verfolgt. Um sich vor der Polizei und den Killern zu schützen, verkleiden sich beide als jüdische Rabbiner - und werden prompt mit Rabbi Jacob und dessen Freund verwechselt und als solche begeistert in Paris empfangen. Es kommt zu allerlei Verwirrungen und einer turbulenten Verfolgungsjagd.

It follows a bigoted businessman and a kidnapped revolutionist who disguise themselves as rabbis to escape from assassins. One of De Funès' most popular and iconic movies, it has become a cult classic.
A bigoted Frenchman finds himself forced to impersonate a popular rabbi while on the run from a group of assassins - and the police.
