The Polyend Tracker is the first hardware tracker ever created. Watch this course to discover every feature of this unique standalone workstation, and get "tracking" with trainer and music producer Nigel Broad!
First introduced in the late 80s, software music trackers like the C64 Soundmonitor and the Amiga SoundTracker were very popular amongst pro and hobbyist electronic musicians. While seeing text-based data flying on a vertical timeline may look mystifying to the uninitiated, the tracker concept is a lot of fun once you learn the basics. In these tutorials, synth expert Nigel Broad shows you everything you need to know to start making music with the first hardware-based tracker in the music world: the Polyend Tracker.
Nigel starts the course by giving a quick history of music trackers. He explains exactly what music trackers are, and how they differ from traditional DAWs. You then get an overview of the Polyend Tracker hardware and interface. Nigel gives a tour of the back panel and the main panel. You learn how to load and save projects, navigate the interface using the various keys, and configure the preferences to suit your workflow.
