The Hugo Collection (MU, 1995) - reprints most of the first and second runs of the "Hugo" comic books, originally published by Fantagraphics in 1984 & 1985.  The book lists its own ISBN as 1-883847-12-5 but that seems to map to a different title from the same publisher.



Milton Knight Jr. is an artist maybe best known for his work in the movie Cool World, and the television series Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, and The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat.  His style is informed by a variety of influences, from Terrytoons to nineteenth century Japanese printmakers.  "Hugo," developed when Knight was a teenager, is set in medieval Europe by way of Brooklyn. Hugo is a court jester cat whose adventures are described as "fairy tales for adults."
