DESCRIPTION
In the near future crime rates are at an all time high. The government counters this development with a new prison: The Vortex. Innocent citizen Vincent is sent there, after he killed a man who tried to rob him in self-defense. In the Vortex everybody has to commit their crime over and over again. Vincents first victim is his neighbour Carl.

Nella colluttazione che segue l'assalitore rimane ucciso, ma l'assenza di testimoni non consente a Vincent di invocare la legittima difesa e il governo, che ha adottato misure repressive assai severe per combattere la delinquenza dilagante, lo condanna per omicidio. La pena dovrà essere scontata nel Vortex, mondo-prigione sotterraneo dove Vincent sarà costretto a ripetere all'infinito il suo presunto delitto, uccidendo entro un tempo prestabilito le vittime che di volta in volta gli saranno indicate. Anche se appare impossibile tirarsi indietro, pena l'inversione dei ruoli...
Le ridotte dimensioni di questa produzione tedesca la avvicinano più ad un telefilm tipo "Ai confini della realtà" che al lungometraggio. Interessante il soggetto, che ad una visione mai così pessimistica e tragica dell'uso della realtà virtuale, accosta con discreta originalità temi, situazioni e immagini mutuati da varie pellicole, da "La decima vittima" a "L'implacabile", da "Coma profondo" a "Minority Report".
