Brammetje denkt veel na over de wereld om hem heen. Hij heeft ontzettend veel zin om naar groep drie te gaan. Maar dan komt hij bij de strenge meester Vis in de klas. De ouderwetse meester Vis heeft geen oog voor de binnenwereld van het bewegelijke ongeconcentreerde jongetje en zet alles op alles om Brammetje in de pas te laten lopen. De ouders van Brammetje worstelen met de vraag in hoeverre zij van hun zoontje moeten verlangen dat hij zich aanpast zonder doodongelukkig te worden.
