John en Alice zijn beiden in hun twintig, getrouwd, erg verliefd, en blut. Alice werd een gouden toekomst voorspeld in de middelbare school, maar nu kan ze amper de eindjes aan elkaar knopen. Haar neurotische man John wil enkel dat de rekeningen betaald worden. Wanneer ze na een ongeval in een antiekwinkel terechtkomen trekt een koperen theepot de aandacht van Alice.
