DESCRIPTION
"American Horror Story is giving 'Asylum' to a few intrepid AHS fans. We will test your sanity as you undergo a series of psychological test at the dead of night. The experiments will be conducted at an old asylum in the rural northeast. The Asylum has stood for a long time - it's sordid history relegated to the cemetery in the woods nearby.
Trama

Nel 1964 sorella Jude dirige l'istituto Briarcliff, un ospedale psichiatrico presieduto dal monsignor Timothy Howard. Briarcliff diventa in breve il ricettacolo di tutte le paure più nascoste dell'essere umano: dal serial killer Bloody Face (i cui crimini sono imputati a Kit Walker), al demonio che passerà dal possedere il giovane Jed Potter (memorabile la scena dell'esorcismo) al prendere il controllo della pura suor Mary Eunice, fino ad arrivare alle improvvise apparizioni degli alieni ed all'oscuro passato dell'enigmatico e sadico dottor Arden, ex medico nazista, che in accordo col monsignor Howard conduce in segreto una serie di esperimenti brutali che portano alla creazione di creature violente che vagano liberamente nei boschi circostanti Briarcliff. A fermare questa serie di atrocità sarà la giornalista Lana Winters, ricoverata nell'istituto contro la sua volontà in quanto lesbica.
