En musique, une compilation — une « compil' » dans le langage familier — est un album regroupant soit plusieurs enregistrements (parfois mixés) de différents artistes, mais possédant souvent des caractéristiques communes (par exemple, tous les titres de l'album sont des chansons de rap ou bien des reprises d'un même artiste, dans ce cas en parle d'album hommage, tribute album en anglais) (voir Mixtape), soit plusieurs enregistrements d'un même artiste, déjà publiés sur ses disques précédents ; généralement, il s'agit de ses plus grands succès ou de chansons abordant des thèmes similaires. Les compilations réunissant les plus grands succès d'un artiste sont souvent appelés Greatest Hits ou Best of.
