Launched back in October as a public Alpha, BlueStacks today announced the public Beta availability of its BlueStacks AppPlayer, a free software that allows users to quickly run their favorite Android apps on any Windows PC, tablet or laptop. The apps can now run windowed or be full screen, providing a unique and new user experience. With 56 % of smartphone consumers purchasing an Android device back in fall last year, it's apparent that Android is rapidly becoming a preferred operating system. With BlueStacks App Player now gives users one-click access to their favorite Android apps right on their Windows PC. Both Windows and Android users stand to benefit greatly from this capability.
For application developers in the Android ecosystem, the BlueStacks App Player opens up a market of over a billion PC users. BlueStacks does not require any additional work on the part of developers and the apps run unmodified on the Windows PC.
The new AppPlayer Beta comes with better app compatibility which means games like Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja and even apps with hardcore graphics like Air Attack HD are working now. Also new are the windowed and fullscreen modes to give the the option - due to popular demand. AppPlayer allows to sync apps smoothly from an Android phone to a PC as well as Cloud Connect App (available for from Google Play) is much simpler to use now. The new more dynamic interface lets users explore and download apps quickly and easily as well as BlueStacks is now partnering with GetJar, 1Mobile and Amazon to let users download apps right from the PC. The popular download section suggests the latest popular apps which are available as a one click download. Last but not least the new settings are allowing to change the size of the app, uninstall apps easily and more.
BlueStacks AppPlayer Beta is now available as a public download and requires Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP.
