Allright, here's the facts: there is simply no better way to kick off the unholy rebirth of TLD than with a new release from one of the most retardedly brutal bands on planet Earth. And unless you have no fucking clue what is going on, one of the first bands that should come to your mind when it comes to "retardedly brutal" is Guttural Secrete. Nevada's filthiest scumbags have returned to razorize your ballbag once again with another collection of slam-blasting heaviness, stuffed to the gills with enough bestial depravity to choke a horse and it's entire family. You don't really need to dissect this shit song by song, since it basically just runs together into one overwhelming mess of horrible guttural slop, though I will say that the technicality seems to be ramped up a bit, and even sometimes sounds akin to Malignancy being eaten alive by later-day Devourment. If that lazy-ass description doesn't entice you to download this thing, than I just don't fucking know how to help you.
What's cool is that these dudes really haven't skipped a beat, although they've been laying dormant for seven whole years since their last full length Reek of Pubescent Despoilment (a record I liked so much I posted it not once, but TWICE on the original version of this blog). I haven't really even been listening to this shit very much in the last few months, but this gets me pretty amped to turn off the classic rock station and head back into the bog of festering brutal death metal. Highly recommended for cro-magnons and forward-thinkers alike.
Guttural Secrete are from Nevada. They play brutal death metal. They have a new album entitled Nourishing the Spoils due for release on the Brutal Bands label. Thanks to a tip from TheMadIsraeli, I learned that they’ve just released a song from that album by the name of “Stainless Conception”. I’m including it in this Blood Moon post because listening to it will draw blood, and because it’s a force of nature.
It staves in heads with crowbars, and then beats them into mush on a concrete slab with the clang of sledgehammers booming off the walls. Gruesome vocals, groovy riffs, slaughterhouse percussion — it’s got the goods. And by “goods” I mean it will bend you over and do awful things to your bunghole.
