The band had its early beginnings in 2003 and up until 2008 underwent constant line-up changes and searching for an identifiable sound.

In 2008, the band was officially known as Sinister Vengeance, lead by Vincent Harnois as lead singer and Rhythm/Lead Guitar with a line-up featuring most of today’s original members: Michel Péloquin on the keyboards, Francis Tremblay as Rhythm/Lead Guitar, and Guillaume Vaillancourt as the Bassist. They had several performances but the highlight was at “Le Club Soda” in Montreal. The band still underwent some sound searching and switch of drummers: initial member Dominic Daoust, who was later replaced by female drummer Pascale Phaneuf.

In 2009, they changed the name to Karkaos and late that year, they approached Veronica Rodriguez to fill in for vocals temporarily until her integration was made official in early 2010. They recorded and released the single Ashes and late that same year, they sought a new drummer: Normand Martel.

The synergy and connection between the members was immediate and Karkaos’ line-up was finally complete: shows gave the emerging band exposure in the local Montreal metal scene; the EP In Burning Skies was released in Fall of 2011 followed by a video clip for The Tempest and opened the door to brand new opportunities for the coming year of 2012 as well as for Karkaos’ future in the metal scene.
