They find sanctuary in a tiny, roughly fortified Texas town. There Jenni and Katie find they are both attracted to Travis, leader of the survivors; and the refugees must slaughter people they know, who have returned in zombie form.

Fighting to Survive: Katie and Jenni have found new lives with the survivors of their makeshift fort, but danger still lurks. Nothing is easy in the new world where the dead walk and every day is a struggle to keep safe. As the elements, bandits, and the zombie horde threaten their safe haven, Jenni and Katie join the other survivors in fighting to survive as the world dies.

Siege: Katie and Jenni face threats from within and outside the fort as the dead world becomes more dangerous. As forces conspire to seize control of the fort, Jenni, Katie and the other survivors face hard choices that could result in the deaths of those they love or even the end of their own lives.
