Episode Plot:
The Missing Person's Unit is run by DS MJ Croft, her team consisting of DC Jason Doyle and Amy Garnett. Jason and Amy wake up in bed together after a drunken night out and later decide not to taking things any further and remain friends. The team are assigned two cases: one concerns the whereabouts of an autistic boy's missing mother, who may be in a vulnerable state. The other has them trying to track down a man who appears to have defrauded his fiancé and ran off with all her money. MJ also reluctantly agrees to appear on old friend Danny Hayworth's radio show to highlight the work done by her department, however, the discussion soon turns to a painful moment in MJ's past, which perhaps reveals the reason why she works in the field that she does - ten years ago, her sister disappeared without trace.

DESCRIPTION
Missing is a compelling new procedural drama series set in a busy Missing Persons Unit. The under-resourced MPU is set in Dover and is run by a charismatic woman detective: DS Mary Jane Croft, played by Pauline Quirke. Mary Jane and her story from the emotional heart of the series. MJ, as she likes to be known, harbours a dark personal secret: a missing sister of her own. This is what motivated her to join the unit and it is her journey to face up to her past that runs through every episode and provides the emotionally charged denouement of the series. Each episode tackles a very different missing persons case which MJ and her team must try to solve. They are in a race against time, since each case often involves people at risk, either from themselves or others.
