10 JUL 2026 - Back up to full speed! Let's be honest: for the last few months, TorrentFunk was painfully slow. Pages crawled, searches dragged, and just loading the site tested everyone's patience. We hunted the problem down to our network and rebuilt it from the ground up — smarter caching, a much bigger and faster connection, and a lot of fine-tuning under the hood. The difference is night and day: the site now loads in a fraction of a second. No more waiting around. Thanks for sticking with us through the slow spell. Now go discover your funk!
Greeting Folks! How are you? Me? I'm fine!
So this is the final batch of Pollyanna. There are quite a few changes in this batch.
On the video side of things I'll give a brief summery of the process. To start with the overall image quality of the disks are terrible. Compressed and rainbowed to hell. Not to mention the dot crawl. Thank fully the Rainbowing was an easy fix, I just did a light SSIQ pass. The crawl was a challange since none of the normal filters seemed to work on it. I wound up with a degrain denoise combo on it. A stabilizer filter was also used.
The Big issue was the switch from interlaced 30 fps to VFR Progressive. The overall image quality improved a lot and there is a notable increase in file sized at that point. But they introduced a frame blending problem. I spent several days trying to figure out the pulldown pattern before i realized the switch over. Took me ages to find a filter combo to handle that. Wound up using SRestore in Omode 2 with VFM.
For the Subs I'll give a dirty rundown. Dark can do better later.
The OCR was simple enough. Tweaked a few threshold values and it went fine. Single color font. A lot of false positives though. Once again Licca and Co. don't know how to time subs to save their lives. The TL wasn't too bad, but they did a lot of over formal/strict Translation in places, plus they reused a lot of stock TL phases. A lot of that got reworked not to mention the timings were basically redone from scratch. We also retranslated the second OP and touched up the first ED.
And as a final Note I'd like to once again thank Seijiro of Inka-subs for helping us with a bit of Italian that popped up.
