The software has been created as general software for surveillance hybrid platforms functioning concurrently with wireless and wired Internet cameras, Television-boards, capture boards, power-line, and USB webcams. It has web interface with the same appearance and controls on the local and distant computers. Users watch MPEG coded video and have full management of the software via network that surveillance computer can be run without monitor, keyboard, and mouse attached. Program`s modular composition extensively boosts reliability because all components operate as autonomous applications. If one part stops working, other parts continue running. For instance if the `capture` part stops working, `watchdog` restarts it immediately that users don`t notice anything because they are watching video using a `playback` part. The program does `cyclic` recording that the `hard drive full` situation never happens. The recording can be constant or it can be turned on by movement, human face detection, or by timetable. The program has pre-alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded video is pretty simple and performs on the surveillance server as well as on distant pc using Web interface. The program does synchronized video playback for event analysis from multiple webcams at the same time. Also recorded data can be searched by date, time or by face detected. All recorded data can be encrypted and password protected.
